For the effective weapon system simulation, it is necessary to have a general structure that improves the reusability of simulation models. A ‘base system model’ (BSM) has been proposed for such purpose, and it consists of four sub-models; 1) physical model, 2) logical model, 3) attribute model, and 4) information model. In this paper, we propose a methodology to construct a weapon system model by using the BSM structure. To show the feasibility of the proposed methodology, the BSM model of a surface vessel has been constructed. The physical model of the surface vessel is based on the 6 degrees of freedom model, and simulation experiments have been performed by using ADDSim2.0 & SIMDIS.
