Materials Today Communications (Journal Impact Factor* 1.859, CiteScore 1.98) is a primary research journal covering all areas of materials science. The journal offers the materials community an innovative, efficient and flexible route for the publication of original research which has not found the right home on first submission. New articles should not be submitted to Materials Today Communications directly. Articles submitted to Supporting Journals, but which were not suited for publication in those Supporting Journals, may be offered transfer to Materials Today Communications. Articles offered transfer to Materials Today Communications after peer review may be offered immediate publication without additional review**. Rapid publication of accepted articles is achieved using article-based, online publishing to ensure each paper is visible to the community as quickly as possible. Highly experienced editorial teams from Materials Today Communications and the Supporting Journals ensure that all papers are rigorously and fairly assessed. Materials Today Communications publishes original research papers of any length, and follows a hybrid publication model, providing authors with the option to publish their papers Open Access for a fee or freely via the subscription route.
