This paper presents a multi-resolution mobility simulation approach based on a ‘base system model’ (BSM). In this paper, the BSM consists of four major sub-models; 1) physical model, 2) logical model, 3) attribute model and 4) information model. Among the four sub-models, the physical model can significantly affect the accuracy of the simulation results. Ensuring the independence of the physical model improves the reusability and the efficiency of the simulation by adjusting the resolution between the weapon systems according to the simulation purpose. In this paper, we propose a proper model resolution for the weapon system simulation based on BSM and demonstrate it by applying to the maneuvering module of a combat vehicle. The simulation for fidelity is implemented in AddSim, and the scenario is that the K2 tank runs on the terrain supported by AddSim.
