Abstract
This paper presents a novel multihop range-free localization algorithm tailored for anisotropic network. To mitigate the effect of network anisotropy, an approximate location area for each normal node is determined by using geographic information obtained from anchors at known locations. Using the approximate location area, a new distance estimation approach that is able to obtain the maximum estimation error is then introduced. The location of each normal node is computed with weighted least square estimation (WLSE) by taking into account the maximum distance estimation errors. The superiority of the proposed algorithm is validated over existing algorithms through extensive simulations.
