Sex differences in the efficacy of cardiovascular and metabolic therapeutics on the incidence of dementia Dementia is a clinical syndrome marked by a gradual decline in cognitive and functional abilities. Unfortunately, it remains an incurable condition, with conventional interventions, both pharmacological and non-pharmacological, demonstrating limited effectiveness, primarily in slowing down its progression. Given the absence of effective therapeutics for dementia, there is a crucial emphasis on identifying and preventing controllable risk factors. Specifically, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases have emerged as notable contributors to dementia development, underscoring the importance of managing and preventing these risk factors to avert the condition's onset. Moreover, a growing body of evidence suggests that sex-based factors may significantly influence disease pathogenesis, including dementia. Understanding these sex-specific differences is not only vital for optimizing drug efficacy tailored to both men and women but also for devising potential therapeutic strategies. In this study, I investigated gender differences in dementia therapeutics and examined the sex-specific efficacy variations of therapeutics targeting dementia risk factors with the aim of preventing the onset and progression of dementia._x000D_
_x000D_
Keywords: Treatments for dementia, Risk factor for dementia, Prevention of dementia, Sex differences-
