dc.description.abstractVehicle thermal management system (VTMS) is one of the promising technologies for responding to stricter CO2 regulation. VTMS substitutes some mechanical parts for electronic parts and requires an electronic control system. Therefore, gaining an understanding of the cooling system of the vehicle is becoming more and more important for optimal control. This study focused on cooling system modeling for predicting the behavior of coolant, engine oil and transmission oil. Cooling system was modeled mathematically and experiments on some parts of the cooling system, including radiator, transmission oil warmer and thermostat were carried out in order to find out modeling coefficients. Simulation results were compared with experiment data and good agreement was revealed. It is proposed that the present work can be applied for model-based VTMS control.-
