This is a descriptive research study that has been attempted. At two regional emergency medical centers located in southern and northern Gyeonggi-do, 70 emergency room nurses who took over patients from 119 paramedics and classify their severity, and 70 119 paramedics who took over to emergency room nurses, a total of 140 subjects were studied. Data collection was conducted from November 20, 2021 to January 20, 2022. The handover recognition used the tool developed by O'Connell (2014), and the cause of the handover error was modified and supplemented for the emergency room by using the tool developed by Han (2010) and modified by Hyung (2014). In terms of handover items, the importance and performance of 27 items that the researcher organized through literature review at home and abroad and also confirmed expert validity were investigated. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program with frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, independent t-test, and chi-square test. The results of this study are as follows 1. There was no difference in the perception of handover between emergency room nurses and 119 paramedics, with an emergency room nurse giving 4.51±0.71 points and 119 paramedics 4.62±0.72 points out of 7 points. It was significant in information quality (t=-1.94, p=.055), interaction (t=0.01, p>.999), and patient participation (t=-1.96, p=.052), which are subdomains of takeover recognition. There was no difference, but there was a significant difference in efficiency (t=-4.26, p<.001). 2. There was a difference between the emergency room nurses and the 119 paramedics in the highest ranking recognized by emergency room nurses and 119 paramedics as possible causes of errors during handover. In the emergency room nurses, 'the workload is too much', 'there is a difference in the background knowledge of the 119 paramedics and nurses on important information', and 'they need to take over while responding to the needs of the caregiver or patient'. In the case of the circle, 'individual tendencies play a role during takeover', 'there are no standardized handover guidelines (contents, methods)', and 'takeover stress or fatigue is severe'. 3. The top-ranking items that emergency room nurses consider to be important in handover were ‘disarthria’, ‘pre-accidental’, ‘pupillary reflex’, ‘Loss of consciousness (LOC)’, ‘decreased sensation’, and ‘muscle of extremities’. In the case of 119 paramedics, 'state of consciousness', 'home shelter', 'whether or not protective equipment is worn', 'Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) symptom', and 'vital sign' were considered to be the most important takeover items in the highest order. 4. Emergency room nurses and 119 paramedics performed handover items: patient location, vital signs, past history, pre-hospital medications, usual medications, patient allergy, Nothing per oral, pain pattern, pain score, wearing protective equipment, and accident There were significant differences in the onset time, SCI symptom, head-to-toe examination, extremity muscle strength, pupil reflex, disarthria, and sensory hypoesthesia. Standardized handover guidelines to reduce the possible causes of errors in handover recognized by emergency room nurses and 119 paramedics, offset differences in perception between each subject on the importance of handover items, and perform efficient and clear handover It is necessary to develop and use it for the handover education of emergency room nurses and 119 paramedics, and to apply it to the actual handover.
