문혜원 최재은 2018-02 27633 https://aurora.ajou.ac.kr/handle/2018.oak/13816 학위논문(석사)--아주대학교 일반대학원 :국어국문학과,2018. 2 조향은 1950년대 전후 모더니즘 시인 중 한명이다. 조향은 등단한 이후 여러 가지 형태의 시를 발표하였다. 특히 전쟁 이후 그가 발표한 시들은 대부분 초현실주의 사상에 기반을 둔 실험적인 형태가 많다. 조향의 시는 외래어와 외국어 등을 이용하거나 어울리지 않는 단어들의 결합이 나타난다. 이것은 조향이 창조적인 언어사용을 중요하게 생각했기 때문이다. 그는 시에서 초현실주의 창작기법으로 내세운 데페이즈망과 자유연상기법을 통해 어울리지 않는 단어들의 결합을 보여준다. 그렇기에 조향의 시에 대한 대부분의 연구는 그의 시에서 나타나는 모더니티와 초현실주의 사상을 중심으로 이루어져 왔다. 또한 그의 독특한 창작기법에 대한 연구는 주로 데페이즈망과 자유연상기법이 시에 어떠한 형태로 드러나는가를 중심으로 이루어졌다. 본고는 조향의 시에서 나타나는 독특한 언어사용을 단지 창작 기법의 하나로 보거나 은유와 환유를 통한 수사학적 논의를 중심으로 분석했던 것에서 벗어나, 시어들의 결합과 이들이 가지고 있는 의미를 중심으로 논의하고자 한다. 이와 함께 데페이즈망이나 자유연상기법에 비해 연구되지 않은 실험적 형태의 시의 의미 구성 방식을 분석할 것이다. 조향의 시는 크게 일반적인 통사 규칙과 문장 구성을 따르는, 언어 체계가 유지되는 시와 이러한 언어 체계가 변형된 시로 나눌 수 있다. 본고에서는 언어 체계가 유지되는 시 중에서도 조향의 초현실주의 시작 기법인 데페이즈망과 자유연상기법이 나타나는 시를 중심으로 분석하였다. 조향의 시에 나타나는 단어들의 내포 의미를 살펴보고 이들의 결합을 유사성/상이성과 인접성의 원리로 나누어 분석하였다. 또한 언어 체계가 유지되는 시들 중에서 새로운 내용이 덧붙여지는 시를 옐름슬레우의 내포 기호학을 통해 분석하였다. 언어 체계의 변형이 나타나는 시는 조향의 시 중 형태적 실험이 나타나는 것들로 볼 수 있다. 여기에는 시행의 독특한 배치, 각 행의 첫 글자나 굵게 강조된 글자를 통해 나타나는 언어유희, 동음이의어와 유음어를 이용한 언어유희가 나타난다. 이러한 형태적 실험이 나타나는 시들은 형태적 실험 그 자체가 가지고 있는 의의에 대해서만 논의되거나 시의 외적인 상황을 통해 분석되어 왔었다. 본고에서는 이러한 시에서 나타나는 언어사용과 형태적 변형을 하나의 기호 체계로 보고 옐름슬레우의 표현과 내용의 측면을 통해 이들의 1차 기호 체계와 2차 기호 체계를 나누었다. 그리고 이러한 시들의 2차 기호 체계가 어떠한 방식으로 의미를 구성하느냐에 따라 옐름슬레우의 내포 기호학과 메타 내포 기호학을 통해 분석하였다. 조향의 시에서 나타나는 다양한 언어사용과 실험적 형태는 단지 초현실주의 기법의 하나로 다루기보다는 여러 측면에서 분석될 가능성이 있다. 특히 시에서 나타난 언어들의 결합과 실험적 형태를 통해 그들의 의미 구성이 어떠한 식으로 나타나는가에 대한 연구는 조향의 시에 대한 논의가 하나의 사조나 시대상의 반영을 넘어 다양한 방식으로 나타날 수 있다는 것을 보여주기에 의의가 있다. Cho-Hyang published various poem after starting his literary career. Especially most of his published post Korean war poems are considered as experimental poetry based on surrealism. Loanword, Foreign language and mismatched combination of words are shown in his poetry, because it is important for him to use creative words. His poetry shows mismatched combination of words using depaysement and free association as surrealism creation techniques. So most of previous studies about him have been focused on modernity and surrealism and on his distinctive poetry writing technique, including how appeared depaysement and free association in his poetry. I would like to discuss meaning of the word itself mainly, apart from known studies that analyzed his creative technique, metaphors or metonymy about using distinctive words. His poetry can be divided to two types of poems, as one is to maintained language system using general syntactic rules and construction of sentence, and the others that transformed language system. Focusing on poems appearing depaysement and free association is analyzed among the poem that maintained language system. The connotative meaning of words in the poem of Cho-hyang is analyzed. And their combinations were analyzed by principle of similarity/dissimilarity and adjacency. The poem that transformed language system is regarded as the poem that transformed their shape among his poems. These poems show a distinctive arrangement of lines and linguistic playfulness using emphasized bold letter, first letter of line, homonym or assonant. This experimental form of poems had been discussed by just importance of itself or external circumstance. As shape-transforming and using distinctive words in this poem are regarded as system of symbol, and they are devided by primary system of symbol and secondary system of symbol through the content and the expression of Hjelmslev. Then they are analyzed using connotative semiotics and meta-connotative semiotics of Hjelmslev, depending on the way of meaning-making. His usage of various words and experimental forms can be studied in various ways rather than to be regarded merely as surrealism technique. Especially, a study on how he makes sense using experimental forms with siginificant combinations of words in his poetry can show its possibility that discussions about Cho-Hyang's poetry can be elaborated in various ways than being just a the reflection of the times or a the trend of literature. 의미 구성 방식을 중심으로
