가능성 추정이 해석수준의 조건에 따라 달라진다는 Wakslak과 Trope(2009)의 연구를 바탕으로, 해석수준과 더불어 시간적 거리와 자기 조절 초점변인을 조작하였을 경우에 이 세 변인간의 부합도에 따라 가능성 추정에 서로 다른 영향을 미치는가에 대해 살펴보았다. 실험 1에서 해석수준과 조절 초점, 시간적 거리의 상호작용의 경향성을 확인하였으나, 연구자의 가설과는 다른 양상이었다. 실험 2에서 삼원상호작용의 경향성을 재확인하는 동시에, 긍정적인 사건의 가능성을 추정할 경우에 해당 사건이 자신에게 발생할 가능성을 추정하는 과정이 매개변인으로 작용하는 구조모형을 검증하였고, 독립변인 조건에 따라 경로계수가 차이를 나타낸다는 결과를 얻었다.
Alternative Abstract
Based on Wakslak and Trope(2009), which shows the effect of construal level on probability estimates, this study explores the fit effect of construal level, temporal distance, and self-regulatory focus on probability estimation. Experiment 1 examines the tendency of three-way interaction. Experiment 2 reaffirms the interaction, and analyzes the mediation effect that participants judge the likelihood of events to themselves when they estimate the probability of positive events. Also, path coefficients differ from each other under the conditions.
