Alternative Abstract
Maritime governance is very critical to African states where the negligence of its geostrategic and geo-economic importance during the post-colonial era is posing a long-term challenge to the region’s political, economic and social stability. Cameroon, likewise other Gulf of Guinea states are facing similar challenges of securing and maintaining absolute control over their maritime domain. This can be envisaged through the numerous threats emanating from the state’s maritime domain.
