Alternative Abstract
The study examines Positive Youth Development (PYD) through experiential learning in unique organization founded in A University, South Korea. Positive youth development has become a phenomenon of interest to scholars and practitioners in western countries in recent years. Despite the fact of related research has increased over the past decades, the construct remains as a concept rather than developed into colorful practices for, especially, emerging adults in South Korea. With longer transitional phase to become an adult, many emerging adults are feeling lost identifying themselves. Guided by positive youth development theory with youth-adult partnership and experiential learning theory, this qualitative investigation describes how emerging adult of ages between 18 and 25 years develop their qualities and capacities to guide them into adulthood smoothly. ABIZ Ambassador program in A University provides various experiences for emerging adults to actively explore and engage in development. Overall, the findings indicate that positive youth development in a non youth development program under certain circumstances can be extracted.
